BackGervais and Vine
Gervais & Vine was opened in the Spring of 1999 by the owners of Mr. Friendly's New Southern Cafe and Solstice Kitchen & Wine Bar as a place for them to enjoy wine and tapas (Spanish for "small bites"). Eventually, the list grew to around 50 wines by the glass, as well as an extensive selection of beers and spirits from around the world. You see, these guys like to eat and drink and this place is a reflection of that.
As they got busier and busier with Mr. Friendly's (opening up another one as well as buying a seafood company) they decided to sell Gervais & Vine. In what is now referred to as the "Dark Year", it was owned by someone that didn't have a clue how to run it and nearly killed it. To those of you that patronized it during this time, we apologize.
In the Spring of 2001, with Gervais & Vine firmly back in the hands of Mr. Friendly's, things really began to pick up steam. With an ever-expanding menu of delicious tapas from around the world as well as wine tastings, dinners and other events, it has become one of the best places in the Vista to relax after work, before the theater or simply with your buds.
Like I said before, with over 50 wines by the glass, an extensive beer list and only the best spirits (including single malt Scotches and single barrel Bourbons), there is no taste we can't please.
So, stop by for a great food and wine experience the next time you're in our neighborhood! We're easy to find at the corner of Gervais & Pulaski street, next door to Carolina Wings and Columbia's the Salon
