So there is a new hang out spot in Uptown that I like a lot. It is called Molly MacPhersons Scottish Pub & Grill. It has been open for a little while now but I wanted to check it out a few times on different nights to get a feel for the place.

Moe's Original Bar B Que is proud to announce its Asheville grand opening on Friday, July 9th at 11am at 4 Sweeten Creek Road. Moe's Original serves up an award-winning, all things Southern, Alabama BBQ experience with large party take-out orders and catering with delivery available. Located in the Biltmore Village area, there are many shops, music venues and attractions nearby with downtown Asheville minutes away. In addition to a beautiful outdoor patio, there are 4 large flat-screen TVs for sports viewing and will be live entertainment on the weekends.
"We wanted to keep with the overall atmosphere of Moe's as its theme ties the South to the mountains which is fitting for Asheville," said co-owner Dave Rice. "Like the other Moe's, our restaurant features walk up counter service, a premium bar, comfortable booths and tables surrounded by Southern sports memorabilia and concert posters on the walls."
Years after learning to fire roast meats Bama-style, Alabama natives Mike Fernandez, Ben Gilbert and Jeff Kennedy founded Moe's Original Bar B Que in Vail, Colorado in 2001. Using recipes passed down for generations, Moe's Original Bar B Que prepares meats and an array of Southern side dishes and desserts fresh daily. Continuing to grow and open new franchises at an aggressive, yet manageable pace, Moe's Original Bar B Que has 15 other locations in Daphne, Fairhope, Orange Beach, Vestavia Hills, Hoover, Lakeview, Tuscaloosa, Huntsville and Birmingham, Alabama, Denver, Englewood, Fort Collins, Lakewood, Eagle and Vail, Colorado with another opening soon in Atlanta, GA. All Moe's open daily for lunch and dinner starting at 11am and serve until it's gone!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Buffalo Stille from Nappy Roots who will be performing at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC on August 13th, 2010.
CNL: What are you alls songs about/based on?
BS: Our songs are based on real life, and real events that have happened.
CNL: Does Nappy Roots write their own songs?
BS: Yes, all of the members of Nappy Roots write their own material.
CNL: Who are your musical influences?
BS: Some of my personal musical influences are James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Big Daddy Cane, Eric B, and Lords of the Undergrounds among many more.
CNL: How did Nappy Roots get started?
BS: We were all attending Western Kentucky University at the same time and were all the top dogs in class and we sort of formed our own group and that eventually turned into Nappy Roots.
CNL: How did the band get its name?
BS: It was something along the lines as: Two of the band members were talking Skinny Deville was one of them and he said man this is nappy and the other band member said yeah you have got some nappy roots and the name stuck.
CNL: What is your latest album?
BS: Our newest album just released last week and it is called Pursuit of Nappyness. And in order to reduce our carbon footprint, we worked with the label in order to produce a package for the CD that is 100% recyclable. Nappy Roots believes that is really important to take care of your environment.
CNL: What advice do you have for new and upcoming musicians/bands?
BS: Unfortunately, the music industry has kind of put an age limit on musicians, so if you havent been making it as a musician it doesnt mean that you cant work in the music business, but you may want to try writing, producing, or other jobs in the music industry. Also, you need a fan base because without a fan base your band will not make it. So try and get your fan base before you go big.
Again, Nappy Roots will be performing in Charleston, SC at the Music Farm on August 13th. Be sure to come, it is going to be an awesome time and make sure you dress to impress because a photographer will be present from CarolinaNightlife.com!
